Skin, Ribbon, Envelope

Skin, Ribbon, Envelope

We had to take 3 photos of surfaces (ceiling, wall, floor) for part 1, then for part 2 use them to create a palette of materials for an interior space. I think. Kinda forgot it's been a long time. :\

From this collection specify the ceiling, wall and floor for a routine through the building supplied (somewhere in Woodside?) The route must start at the entrance and finish at the glazed area to the rear of the first floor.

Consider:
The beginning, middle and end of the journey.
Significant moments that occur along the way.
The effect of lighting, both natural and artificial.
Combinations, transitions and relative proportions.

Part I

Ceilings

Walls

Floors

Part II
Here's what I came up with:

I didn't actually get to use the last photo in the final design because it made my Vectorworks crash several times. So I used the flower ornaments as a design on the bottom of the stairs instead.

Here's the combinations:
Final work:
  1. Wall: Combination of (ceiling1)+(ceiling2)+(floor1)
  2. Ceiling: Combination of (floor2)+(floor3)
  3. Stairs: wall1 (used the wooden planks as the tread and the plaster wall as the riser)
  4. Flower ornament: wall 2
  5. Landing walls: wall 3

Notice I didn't mention ceiling3, well technically ceiling3 kinda looks like wall1 anyway so I just made wall1 into 2 different materials, wooden plank and plaster.
